Amarillo Lane Closures Week of August 24th

We made it to the first day of school and kids will be heading to the classroom today to start the 2015-2016 school year. Parents will be dropping kids off, buses will be running once again, and unfortunately you have to deal with delays when it comes to construction. Here's a list of areas you might want to avoid on your morning drive this morning especially because of back to school.

I-40, expect lane closures in both directions at various locations for drainage work

I-27, expect continued lane closures in both directions from the US 87 split north of Canyon to McCormick for cable barrier repair

FM 1061 (Boys Ranch Road), expect continued lane closures in both directions at various locations from the Potter County line to FM 2381 for patching

Loop 335 (Soncy), expect various lane closures in both directions from 45th Street to 34th Street for an ADA ramp project

The Texas Department of Transportation reminds you to slow down in work zones.

So as you embark on your morning drive that includes dropping your kids off at school, have a safe drive and please do your best to avoid these areas.  Nothing worse than getting yelled at by your boss first thing on a Monday morning.
