Expect More Overnight Lane Closures at the Interchange This Week

As the construction continues on the interchange at I-27/I-40 motorists in Amarillo have had to deal with delays in the area.  The delays will continue and coming up later this week you might have to find an alternate route around the area.

The Texas Department of Transportation will be shutting down roads to aid in the construction of the the project.

Starting this Friday, November 4th, TxDOT will be closing down areas overnight to give the project room for the proper equipment to place beams for the new interchange connector.

The eastbound I-40 ramp that connects to southbound I-27 will be closed to traffic starting at 7pm and will be re-opened at 7am on Saturday, November 5th.  Traffic needing access to southbound I-27 will be detoured north around the area into downtown Amarillo to gain access with I-27.

All closures will take place weather permitting.
