Donating blood is important because it saves more lives then you think.

Kids Inc Donor Days (KIDD) is going on through the end of March and here's why you should give the gift of life during this event.

Due to the large amount of flu outbreaks in the Texas Panhandle, blood donation has dropped.

The Coffee Memorial Blood Center is kicking off Kids Inc. Donor Days and this year is bigger and better than even. Not only are you helping to win a cash prize for your favorite school. High School Seniors now have the opportunity to win a scholarship to Amarillo College or WTAMU.

After the tragic events that happened last night in Las Vegas, Coffee Memorial Blood Center started to get lots of calls and messages on Facebook by good people wanting to help.

During the month of July, the Coffee Memorial Blood Center has been promoting Boots vs. Badges.  Boots vs. Badges is a friendly competition between law enforcement and firefighters.  Each year they compete to see who can get the most blood donation for the blood center.  Then they wrap up the friendly competition with a baseball game.

It's a battle between the police and the fireman, but it's a great battle.  They save lives each and every day and they need your help to save lives as well.  You don't have to put on a badge or boots, all you have to do is give the gift of life during Boots vs. Badges.

Amarillo's Mix 94.1 will be heading to Friona this Thursday and you are invited.  We will be celebrating Dairy Month with a big Extravaganza.  So if you are in the area come join us for some food, fun and saving lives.

Blaze Coffee was an amazing young man who benefited from blood donation. You can honor his memory and help out the Coffee Memorial Blood Center by taking part in the Blaze Coffee Benefit Run this Saturday, May 20th in Panhandle Texas.
