‘Game of Thrones’ Producer Says THAT Character ‘Was Always Going to Come Back’

Game of Thrones seems to dole out more fanservice than ever in Season 6, Sunday’s “The Broken Man” confirming another huge return readers have anticipated for years. Its reflection in the books remains to be seen, but said character “was always going to come back,” says writer-producer Bryan Cogman, with several different ideas considered.

‘Walking Dead’ Creator Shades George R.R. Martin Over ‘Game of Thrones’ Spoilers

Apart from an army of undead and a few fake-out deaths, The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones have little in common beyond vast source material fans are eager to see adapted. That said, Game of Thrones ran out of road early enough that author George R.R. Martin gifted a few unpublished spoilers to HBO, something Dead creator Robert Kirkman says he would never do for AMC.

‘Game of Thrones’ Director Confirms Reduced Season 7 Order?

Even as Game of Thrones gets into the back half of Season 6, we’ve yet to hear much word from HBO after reports suggested that Seasons 7 and 8 might have only thirteen episodes between them. ‘Game of Thrones’ Brienne Has a Famously Tall Ancestor, George R.R. Martin Confirms

Given all Game of Thrones mysteries and histories slowly converging back toward the series’ end, the HBO drama will inevitably omit certain fan-favorite character’s origins. ‘Game of Thrones’ Writer Bryan Cogman on Adapting THAT Huge Stark Return

For as often as Game of Thrones fans have questioned whether Season 6 may indeed spoil George R.R. Martin’s unpublished books, a major twist from Sunday’s “Blood of My Blood” may have answered a literary mystery sixteen years in the making. Now, writer Bryan Cogman opens up to explain that significant Sunday return, touching on whether or not to expect the same twist in The Winds of Winter or beyond.

New ‘Game of Thrones’ Photos Look to Spill Some Holy ‘Blood of My Blood’

Now that we’ve put that big Hodor twist (and hopefully its jokes) behind us, Game of Thrones has even more “Blood of My Blood” to spill by the looks of next Sunday’s photos. ‘Game of Thrones’ Bosses Apologize for Barrage of Ongoing ‘Hodor’ Jokes

Game of Thrones’ big Hodor twist has been dissected every which way; whether it does, or doesn’t spoil the books, and even word from Kristian Nairn himself, but nothing feels quite so devastating as the onslaught of new “Hodor” gags wrought by Sunday’s “The Door.” For that, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss must apologize.

Recapping the Realm: Hodor, Origin Stories and Time Travel on ‘Game of Thrones’ ‘The Door’

Wow. That was one of the most phenomenal and exhilarating episodes of Game of Thrones I’ve seen in a while. We learned so much that I wasn’t expecting to learn so soon this season – the origin of the White Walkers and the Night’s King – and we lost two prominent characters plus another direwolf. But first, Hodor, because who didn’t cry during that reveal and who doesn’t love Hodor to pieces? As many fan theories as I’ve read, I never came across one predicting that turn of events and while it may not sound that climactic on paper, it was pulled off incredibly well in such a heartbreaking and intense sequence.

‘Game of Thrones’ Bosses Confirm Hodor Twist Came From George R.R. Martin

For all the myriad revelations of Game of Thrones Season 6, book readers have taken small comfort in knowledge that the HBO series may not necessarily reflect George R.R. Martin’s unpublished books. The same can’t be said of Sunday’s big “The Door” twist, as showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss say the Hodor reveal came straight from the author himself.

Old Foes Return and The North Remembers in New ‘Game of Thrones’ Synopses

Game of Thrones will be hard-pressed to top itself for Season 6 after last Sunday’s “Book of the Stranger,” but the next few weeks are certainly starting to build hype.
