When The Avengers arrived in 2012, the massive final battle between Earth’s mightiest heroes and Loki’s alien army ended up being much bigger and more exciting than the trailers suggested. From the sound of things, we may be in for a similar treat with Avengers 2. In a new interview, writer/director Joss Whedon discussed many aspects of the upcoming sequel, but it’s his comments about the Avengers 2 ending that should get you the most interested.

Marvel’s 2016 Guardians of the Galaxy animated series has conjured up a star-load of casting over the last few days, but it seems the Disney XD team has already made its way to Earth. Since the news that Spider-Man would be joining The Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we couldn't help but wonder what that was going to look like. Yesterday, Sir Patrick Stewart revealed that he would not, as was widely suspected, be returning for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’. He did, however, tease his involvement in the next ‘Wolverine’ movie saying, “we have been talking about a Wolverine movie, which would team Hugh Jackman and myself together.” He offered no further details, so we took this rumor straight to the man himself, Wolverine, and asked Hugh Jackman for some details.

Marvel stars Chris Pratt and Chris Evans—Seahawks and Patriots fans, respectively—made a bet on Twitter on which of their teams would win the Super Bowl. At stake? The loser would have to visit a local charity dressed as their superhero. The Patriots beat the Seahawks in dramatic fashion, so Pratt, in full Star-Lord costume, lived up to his end of the bargain and visited Christopher's Haven, a home for kids and their families battling cancer in Boston.

We know that Tony Stark's Iron Man suit is powerful—when fully charged, it can lift over 100 tons—but, we probably didn't realize just how heavy it is. The original suit in the first ‘Iron Man’ movie weighed over 90 lbs. That's big, hot costume to have to act in all day. ‘Avengers 2’ graced the cover of Empire Magazine this month, and while there are two covers featuring new looks at Ultron and the team’s new lineup, it’s something on the inside of this issue that caught our attention. Director Joss Whedon spoke to Empire and dropped this bomb: “I’ve come to the conclusion that Ultron is right. The Avengers need to die.”

A new ‘Avengers 2’ trailer is coming in less than a week (airing on January 12 during the College Football National Championship on ESPN) and when it arrives we’ll start to know a little bit more about the very secretive plot. Just yesterday, the reveal of a new Iron Man toy gave us out first glimpse of the character’s new armor in the upcoming ‘The Avengers 2.’ The trend of toys jumping the gun continues today: a German ad for the first wave of LEGO sets based on Joss Whedon’s superhero team-up sequel has made its way online and it may very well tease some setpieces and concepts that haven’t been present in any of the trailers thus far.

Much was made about how the ‘Avengers 2' trailer broke online viewing records for 2014, shattering the previous record by ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’. But, records were made to be broken and it took just over a month for the ‘Avengers 2’ trailer to be surpassed, not surprisingly by the ‘Star Wars: Episode 7’ trailer, which, if it keeps up at its current pace, could set the all-time record for trailer views.

‘Big Hero 6’ may only be tangentially related to the Marvel comic on which it is based and completely unconnected to the larger Marvel cinematic universe, but it still has the obligatory Stan Lee cameo. Yes, this is an animated movie featuring an animated version of the legendary comic book icon/Marvel mascot. But hey, it’s a tradition at this point.
