I have always loved to read.   I absolutely love a good book.   I always find myself getting caught up in a awesome series, Ann Rice's Vampire Chronicles,Twilight Saga, The Hunger Games Trilogy, The Sookie Stackhouse Novels aka the Southern Vampire Series.  As a kid I read all the Christopher Pike books, and loved Stephen King and Dean Koontz.  I fell in love with the Left Behind series as well.

My love for reading hasn't died, however, I don't have as much spending money as I used to, and let's be honest books are expensive.  Book readers like Kindles and Nooks are expensive, the eBooks you download are expensive.

Don't get me wrong I realize that authors put their blood, sweat, and tears into their novels and they deserve their rewards.

I have missed reading and I have gone almost a year and a half with out reading a book.

Jodi always keeps me up to date on what books are worth the read and she gave me a list of books the other day and said I needed to read them.

My first thought was, "I don't have any extra money."  Then it dawned on me as I was driving down 45th, between Bell and Coulter, that I didn't need extra money.  I just needed to update my out-of-date library card.  So I went home and pulled up their website and started to look for books and found a ton I want to read.

I. Am. In. Love.

There in this wonderful building is a wide variety of books that I can check out and read and it doesn't cost me a dime (OK maybe since I pay taxes it costs).  So I have returned to my love of reading.

So what books did Jodi suggest I read?  It is a group of books by Gillian Flynn and they have been awesome so far.   I have only read two, and I'll be honest it takes me about three days to read and I give up sleep to read because that is my only quiet time.

I will tell you, reading makes me happy.   Very happy!

I have even gotten E. involved.  I'll check out books for him and we will read together.  It's amazing.

So if you are an avid reader, what is your favorite book series?  As you can probably tell from my opening paragraph, I like suspense, mystery, etc.  How do you read your books?  Do you still read actual books or do you read books off of a book reader like a Kindle or Nook?

How often do you use our public library system?
