Meet The Expert

Karen, owner, is a Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) certified coach and the 2009 president of the Lone Star Runners Club. A native New Mexican who settled in Amarillo in 1986, she holds a B.S. in Physical Education from Eastern New Mexico University and a M.Ed. in Counseling and Mid-Management Certification from West Texas A&M University. She was employed in the Texas public school system for over 22 years as a coach, teacher, counselor, and administrator. An experienced runner, Karen has been competing in road and trail races since 2002 and was proud to add the Boston Marathon to her resume in April 2008 and 2010. Her passion for running has inspired her to open this store with the goal of helping our community to “Get Fit. Live Well.”
