10 Best Ways to Get Through a Monday
We all know Monday's can be tough. Sometimes they are more than tough. Here are a few ways to help you get through your Monday.
Coffee
Let's face it, coffee wakes ya up and keeps you going. Have a cup or two or a pot. You are going to need it.
Smile
Regardless of if you want to or not, just do your best to keep a smile on your face. It will help improve your demeanor.
Affirmations
Probably just like me, Stuart Smalley popped into your head when you read that, "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough and doggone it people like me." So that's not exactly what I was talking about but close. Just keep telling yourself that Monday won't defeat you and the it is going to be a good day and you will be surprised how that might help.
Eat a Good Breakfast
OK so maybe you skipped eating before you left the house. Try and grab something at the office or sneak away on your morning break and grab something. It really is true that breakfast is the fuel for the day and you need it.
Listen to Your Favorite Playlist
Whether it be angry chick music, or a bunch of Michael Buble songs, put your earbuds in and crank it up, just make sure you can still somewhat hear so you can answer your phone or your boss if he walks into your office or cubicle.
To Do List
Start your Monday off with a to do list. Mark off the things as you go along. At the end of the day take a look at it and see what you accomplished. If you didn't get it done, then you know what you'll need to finish tomorrow. Hey at least you made some headway with your list and you can leave work feeling somewhat accomplished.
Take a Walk
On your break just get out of the building and walk around it for a few minutes to clear your head and get your endorphins elevated. If you can't leave the building take a walk up and down the stairs or around the hallways.
Water Cooler Talk
Take a few minutes to catch up with your co-workers. Talk about that episode of the Walking Dead last night. Find out how their weekend went. Save this for the middle of the day and you'll see a little pick me up. Especially if you get a good laugh or hear something shocking, it will take your mind off of how bad Monday's stink.
Check Your Facebook/Social Media
Just make sure you are allowed to do this at work. Once you do this you will realize that you aren't alone when it comes to Monday. Most people hate Mondays, unfortunately if we didn't have them, then everyone would have "a case of the Tuesdays," or the "Tuesday blues".
Make Sure You have Something to Look Forward to at the End of the Day
It could be seeing your kids. Cooking that special meal. Coffee or drinks with your friends. It doesn't matter what it is, just make sure you have it planned that way you can have something to look forward to and the end of your Monday.
