Hopefully by now you've got a routine in place for the kids when it comes to getting their school work done. If not, it looks like you've got the rest of the current school year to figure it out.

Governor Abbott announced today that all Texas schools will remain closed for the rest of the current school year (2019-2020). Texas Education Agency voiced their support of the Governor's decision.

The good news is that the closure is only for the remainder of this school year. Hopefully schools will be open at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year. In the meantime, we'll just have to keep doing what we're doing as parents to make sure our kids are getting their assignments done.

If you're having problems, I would recommend trying to contact your child's teacher. Teachers, bear with us parents. We know your job has been flipped upside down, and we're grateful you're in our kids' lives. Not all of us, though, are built to be teachers.

Plus, it's been so long since I was in school I can barely remember what most of my teachers looked like. I'm going to be learning alongside my kids for some of this stuff.
