After much discussion between leaders in Amarillo, Canyon, the Panhandle Restaurant Association, and the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, it has been announced that all area restaurants are to stop dine-in services. This announcement comes as Texas Governor Greg Abbott is issuing an Executive Order from the state on the same topic. The order is effective immediately and will be in place until further notice.

While dine-in services will be suspended in Amarillo and Canyon, that does not mean local restaurants are closing down. Actually, just the opposite. Most area restaurants we have talked to had plans in place knowing that this might happen. Those who have drive-thru windows will continue offering pick up, also restaurants are implementing new ways to carry out from the locations. Many are now offering not only carry-out, but curbside service as well. You can also check with your favorite eatery to see if they are offering any type of delivery as some have added that option.

Local officials have said that our local businesses are extremely important to the vitality, quality of life and economy of the Amarillo and Canyon areas. Besides purchasing meals, another great way to support local restaurants and businesses are through gift cards. Buy now to keep supporting your favorite spot and use later when things settle down.
