Construction Woes On S.E. Third In Amarillo To Fix Storm Water Issues
Starting today, April 8, you're going to notice some changes if you have to travel on Third in Amarillo, Texas. Southeast Third will be closed between Arthur and Johnson Streets. Through traffic will be detoured to S.E. 10th at Johnson and Arthur.

To put it simply, for the next six weeks, avoid S.E. Third between Johnson and Arthur Streets. Find any other way to go for the next month and a half.
The work that's being done is part of the Grant Street Storm Sewer Phase I Project. As the name of the project suggests, it's all about improving infrastructure and reducing flooding. At least, that's what Emma, Amarillo's AI wonder bot, told me when I asked her about it.
