The great thing about our city is you can always find something to do on the weekend. Here's a list of all the fun events coming up this weekend.

Amarillo Fire Fighters - Fill the Boot

Where: Coulter and 45th, 34th and Bell, 1-40 and Ross
What: Fire Fighters will be collecting money for MDA - The Muscular Dystrophy Association
Socks for Soldiers Plant Sale
When: Saturday, May 18th 9-4p
Where: 5205 Zelma St. in the backyard
What: Plants including hanging baskets, geraniums, ivies, begonias, peace lillies and more. No early sales

The Zoo celebrates Asian Pacific month with a day filled with the sights and sounds of the people, culture and animals of the Asian continent. Throughout the morning from 10am -11:30am, children from Eastridge Elementary School will share the dances and music of Lao, Vietnamese, Burmese and Karen. Throughout the day kids and families can learn to make origami, use chop sticks, have their names written in Nepalese and learn to say certain animal names in an Asian language. Be sure to attend a presentation about our Bengal tigers at 1:30pm and celebrate the Year of the Snake with a special scaly encounter area. For those who are adventurous you can try a chocolate dipped mealworm – yum yum!

Armed Forces Day Banquet
When: Saturday, May 18th 6pm
Where: Amarillo Civic Center, North Exhibit Hall
Tickets: $25 general Admission, Military in free with RSVP

The FLF Missions team is raising money for their upcoming missions trip to Belize. Enjoy a plate of spaghetti and all the fixings. Plus a silent auction. Come and worship with the FLF missions team and help them raise money to reach their goal.
