Amarillo Parade Honoring Veterans Day Scheduled For This Weekend
Coming up this weekend, there's a parade in honor of Veterans Day in Amarillo. The parade will be this Saturday, November 6.
Veterans Day is officially recognized on Nov 11 every year. Since Veterans Day falls on a Thursday this year, festivities have been moved to the weekend.
Be Down On Polk This Saturday For The Parade
The parade will kick off downtown at 10 AM. The parade route will be from Polk and 11th to 5th and Harrison.
One very special aspect to this year's parade in downtown Amarillo will be flyovers. The flyovers will be performed by West Texas Warbirds Flight.
Veterans Day is a day set aside for all of us to honor those who have served in the United States Military.
This Saturday, be sure to head downtown and take a lawn chair with you.
Difference Between Memorial Day, Armed Forces Day, Veterans Day
For some people, there is a bit of confusion when it comes to Memorial Day, and Veterans Day. Both are military holidays honoring our military men and women.
The difference between the two days is that Memorial Day is a day set aside to remember and honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice while in service to their country. Veterans Day is a day to honor the service of all men and women who have served.
There's also Armed Forces Day, which is a day in which we honor those who are currently serving in our nation's Armed Forces.
