Amarillo Sod Poodles and Arizona Diamondbacks Have Signed a Deal
News came out recently that the Arizona Diamondbacks had extended an invitation to Amarillo Sod Poodles to become their Double-A affiliate. At that time, all we were told is that it was something both sides were considering.
Today, it was announced that the decision to become the Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks is official. The deal has been signed.
It's a deal that's going to last for quite a while.
According to a press release from the Amarillo Sod Poodles earlier today, the player development agreement will last through the 2030 season.
Looks like we just signed up for a decade with the Diamondbacks.
This is just one more encouraging bit of news before the start of the 2021 season. Last year was tough for Sod Poodle fans with the delays and eventual cancellation of the season.
This year, the press releases we've been seeing have more to do with what to expect this season instead of what is being cancelled.
That's got to make you feel good if you're a baseball fan.
I spent a little time at Hodgetown last year. We honestly have a great ballpark, and I'm hoping that I will be able to take my family out there at some point this year.
The kids will love it.
