
Why Amarillo, Texas Gas Prices Are Climbing Higher This Month
If you've been paying attention at the pump recently, you might have noticed the prices going up. They've been going up steadily for the past few weeks. Unfortunately, it's led to Amarillo, Texas no longer being one of the cheapest places in Texas to fuel up before hitting the road.
Price Of Gas Going Up In Texas; Still Beats The National Average
Looking at the latest from AAA, there's enough to be grateful for but also enough to keep an eye on. The average price of gasoline in Amarillo has been going up for the past few weeks. We're now at around $2.75 per gallon.

A week ago, Amarillo was at $2.64. A month ago, the average price of a gallon of gas in Amarillo was $2.60. That's a $0.15 increase in a month. The good news is that Amarillo gasoline prices are still cheaper than they were a year ago when it was around $3.06 per gallon.
Even though we're still cheaper on average, experts are saying we should continue to expect prices to increase.
Why The Cost Of Gasoline Going Up In Texas
If you head to the pump and find yourself wondering why the price keeps going up, there are a couple of things experts are looking at. First, there are refinery issues that have caused the price of fuel to increase over the past few weeks.

The second thing that experts are looking at in regard to the price of gas at the pump is the impact of tariffs. It's believed that the tariffs could impact the price of gas, but no one is certain how big of an impact it would be.
As we get closer to summer, fingers crossed that we see the increase at the pump at least slow down. It would be nice to be able to hit the road and break the bank on just getting from point A to point B.
