Amarillo Veteran’s Day Festivities

Veteran's Day is this Sunday, November 11th.  It is a day to remember and honor all the Veteran's of the Armed Services who have fought and defended our country and our rights as Americans.  Celebrate these Veterans this weekend with several events.

Thursday, November 8

2:45 pm, Veterans Day Program, Bonham Middle School, 5600 SW 49th.  All Active Duty/Veterans invited.

3:00 pm, WTAMU Veterans Appreciation Event, Jack B. Kelly Commons, Canyon. Reception for all Active Duty/Veterans.

Friday, November 9

9:30 am, Veterans Day Program, Travis Middle School, Auditorium, 2815 Martin Road. All Active Duty/Veterans invited.

9:30 am, Veterans Day Program, Mann Middle School, 610 N. Buchanan, Auditorium. All Active Duty/Veterans invited.

10:00 am, Veterans Day Program and luncheon, Highland Park Schools, 15300 Amarillo Blvd East, (east of Amarillo on Hwy 66), Highland Park Gym. All Active Duty/Veterans invited.

1:30 pm, Veterans Day Program and Reception, Houston Middle School, 815 S. Independence, Auditorium. All Active Duty/Veterans invited.

Saturday, November 10th

Veteran's Day Parade -10 am 11th and Polk  to 5th and Pierce in Downtown Amarillo

Welcome Home VA Celebration - An Event to honor area Veterans and families

12n-2p - Front Lawn of the VA Hospital - 6010 Amarillo Blvd West

Live entertainment from Insufficient Funds, as well as the GAMETRUCK, Amarillo Fire Department Kid Safety House, free cookout provided by United Supermarkets rock climbing wall and games for children will be present as well as door prizes.

Free flu shots to Veterans.Plus, job information assistance.
