The official national day of observance is April 25, or the last Friday in April. When you search for Arbor Day in Texas, you'll see that it is going to be officially observed on November 7, or the first Friday in November. It all hinges on climate and planting season.
Arbor Day Celebration In April In Amarillo, Texas
Arbor Day is a day that is set aside to celebrate nature, trees, and the hope for a greener planet. Part of celebrating Arbor Day is planting a tree. If you're not a fan of holidays, this a good one because it's easy to celebrate. Just plant a tree, and you're done. No big family gatherings, meals, or gifts to plan for.

In Amarillo, the Amarillo Parks and Recreation is going to be giving out free trees to help us all with our celebrations. There are two types of trees that will be given out, and they are limited to two trees per vehicle. The types of trees are Kentucky Coffee and Scotch Pine.
The event will be on April 11 at 12 PM. It will be held at the Rick Klein Sports Complex at 3901 S. Grand Street. It is a first come, first served event.
