[Audio] Michael Freeman Is A Free Man; Speaks On Dismissed Charge
I recently wrote about the update regarding the case against Michael Freeman. He was the person behind the infamous, and outright famous, parody Borger PD Facebook page. The charge against him was dismissed.
We recently got a chance to speak with him, and finally hear him tell his own story.
The Man From Borger Who Fought The Law, And Won?
It's been over two years since Michael turned himself in to authorities. Many of us had been watching the drama unfold online via the parody Facebook page. All of the drama led to his now famous mugshot.
Then, there was silence.
I got in touch with Michael to see if he would be willing to tell us his story, and he was more than happy to. You can listen to the entirety of the interview below.
The Cost Of Running A Facebook Page
More than once during the interview, we found ourselves asking him, "All over a Facebook page?" It all seemed so unbelievable.
As he explains in the interview, his life was practically put on hold in some ways. In others, it was completely upended. His marriage even fell apart during it all.
It's unfortunate. So much was lost, so much time taken away. All of it because of some over the top, way out of left field jokes made on a parody page. Something that Michael was not alone in doing. These pages were popping up all over the U.S.
If there is a silver lining to the story, it's Michael's outlook and generally positive disposition. In the interview he reminded us of the old saying about the water that softens the potato also hardens the egg.
It's all about perspective.
Wise words from a man whose life has been turned upside down and put on hold for two years, just see the charge against him dropped.
We wish him all the best in the future. He's earned it.
