"Every Breath You Take" The Police

Sting once said, "I do my best work when I'm in Pain and turmoil."  This was one of his best songs ever and he did it sitting at the desk of James Bond author Ian Flemming.

Sting had just come to the end of his seven-year marriage and his relationship with Andy Summers and Stuart Copeland.

With "Every Breath You Take" Sting was not trying to be clever. Although most people who listen to this think it's a love song, it's actually sung from the perspective of a paranoid stalker.

The single was one of the biggest songs of 1983, topping the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for eight weeks and was a very popular song at weddings.
