Clinton vs. Reagan: Who Gets Your Vote in the Ex-President Showdown? — Survey of the Day
In a recent Yahoo News and Esquire poll of 1,002 adults, Barack Obama was pitted against Ronald Reagan and Mitt Romney got a hypothetical matchup with Bill Clinton. In both cases, the ex-president defeated the current presidential candidate by a healthy margin.
Which begs the question of who would win a fantasy presidential matchup of Clinton vs. Reagan? Yahoo and Esquire surveyed that, too. They found that 49 percent would go with Clinton and 46 percent Reagan.
Clinton's well-liked speech at the Democratic National Convention last month probably helped him, and since the rumors of a Ronald Reagan hologram at the Republican National Convention never materialized, the Gipper, who died in 2004, didn't get to make his case this election year.
