Disney Plans To Re-Release More Classic Movies in 3D

Disney revamped The Lion King and put it in 3D and re-released the movie into theaters  for two weeks.  However, in those 18 days it made nearly 79 million dollars.  So with that said, are they doing this to appeal to an entirely new audience or are they doing it for money.  It is a fine line, but I'm guessing it is a money maker for them, and in this world money is everything.

Disney has just announced that they will be re-releasing the following movies in 3D and in Theaters.

Beauty and Beast

Release Date: January 13, 2012

Finding Nemo

Release Date: September 14, 2012

Monsters, Inc.

Release Date: January 13, 2013

Look for the new Monsters, Inc. Prequel-Monsters University-June 21, 2013

The Little Mermaid

Release Date: September 14, 2013
