Do Strange Spirits Remain in Amarillo Whiskey Saloon Building?
Do you believe that a building can hang onto spirits? Do you believe in ghosts, spirits, demons, or the occult?
A popular hangout in downtown Amarillo could be filled with spirits. Have you ever been dancing, hanging out with friends, or enjoying a drink at Cheney's Whiskey Saloon aka Bodeas, and felt a weird presence?
Have you ever felt a shudder, something very cold that hits you all of a sudden, a whisper that you had no clue where it came from? Have you felt a touch only to turn around and notice that nobody is there?
It's very possible you might have encountered a spirit. I'm not saying this building is haunted or possessed by a demon, but in its past, it was home to something very interesting.
In its early years in Amarillo, this building was once a funeral parlor. It was once home to Eakle Undertaking Parlor, in 1892.
As you can see from this historical photo, yes, its rooms were once filled with coffins for sale, and its back rooms were once used to prepare the recently deceased for burial.
Former employees of the past bars, that called this building home, have said there were weird drains in the back.
Well, those drains were from I'm guessing, the embalming room.
If you believe in spirits, and feel weird energy when you walk into the current building, then it's possible it could be the spirits of former Amarillo residents who were prepared for their final resting place.
This could be the reason why this building seems to change names and businesses often. You can see the recent history here, Amarillo Cursed Buildings. Hmmm, maybe this building really is cursed?
I wonder if any of the paranormal groups have investigated this building?
