Rocky Horror Picture Show is a classic. No matter who you are, it invokes some kind of feeling in you when you hear those words mentioned in conversation. Everyone knows how to do the Time Warp.

This month, there's going to be a free showing you can attend and yes there will be props.

Put June 18 On Your Calendar

June 18, 2022 you and your friends can attend a free showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show. It's a "back alley" showing that will kick off at nightfall.

There are goodie bags full of props available for purchase. I love when you can purchase a "participation bag." It's always fun to see what all is included.

By the way, costumes are encouraged. I'll have to get out my Frank N. Furter outfit and see if the corset still fits.

  • What: Free Back Alley Showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show
  • When: June 18, 2022 starting at nightfall
  • Where: Behind GameQuest, 2811 6th Ave, Amarillo, TX
  • Wear a costume if you've got one

What Will Come In The Participation Bag?

This is my favorite part of going to see Rocky Horror Picture Show. Over the years, it has become appropriate to participate in a variety of ways when watching.

Items included could be tiny squirt guns to help simulate rain. Newspapers to keep you out of the rain. Noisemakers and rubber gloves are also usually present. Some places still use a tiny handful of rice for the wedding scene (it's becoming really rare though).

Personally, I'm excited and can't wait to go. I've always been a huge fan of Rocky Horror Picture Show and was sad when there weren't any showings in Amarillo. Especially around Halloween.

Recently, that's changed. It's nice to see.
