Get Ready To Buy Beer and Wine At 10 am On Sundays, Texas!

It's almost September, and Texans are getting excited to be able to finally buy beer and wine on Sundays at 10 am! It seems a bit conservative that it has taken us this long to decide that maybe Jesus won't mind if we have a couple of brews on Sunday, but it's safe to say we are on our way to the Texas of the future.

This opens up a million possibilities for Sunday fun and brunch festivities that we all typically have had to plan the day ahead for. If I had a dollar for every time I wanted to buy a bottle of champagne for mimosas at 10 am, only to remember the stupid rules and leave the store empty-handed and sad, well, I'd probably have like 13 bucks.

Beginning September 1st, the world is our oyster. Under current law, stores in Texas can't legally sell beer and wine until noon, and you can't buy liquor at all on Sunday. A Sunday ban on liquor sales around these parts has been driving everyone crazy forever and will continue to do so, unfortunately, but at least we will be able to have a beer a little earlier than normal.

It's almost as if nobody has realized that you can get just as hammered on beer as you can on liquor, making it totally stupid that you can't just buy both, but hey, I don't make the rules.

If I did, we would all have a whole lot more fun. Just saying...
