It has been a long time since I've seen an update, or have heard anything at all about Amarillo's local ping pong group. Today, I was forwarded a fantastic bit of information for our pong enthusiasts.

Shakehands Pong is gearing up for another event in Amarillo.

Amarillo's Own Vibrant Pong Community

In case you were completely unaware, Amarillo has a fantastic pong loving community. My favorite part of Shakehands Pong, though, has to be the flyers for their events.

While Shakehands is all about building a community of friends that all share a love for the game, their flyers are works of art. I had no idea what Shakehands was the first time I saw a flier, but the art alone made me want to be a part of whatever it was.

Shakehands Pong Is Back With Another Event, And Another Awesome Flyer

Coming up in October, Shakehands will be hosting an event in Amarillo. While this flyer could be considered minimalist compared to flyers from the past, it's still enough to make me interested in going.

On the event's page, it says that the event is held October 15, from 8:30PM to 11:30PM.

That's really about all there is to know. An address is given on the Eventbrite site, and that's all the additional info that there is. You can check it out here.

It's exciting to see Shakehands hosting events again. I used to look forward to seeing what events they would be having every month. Hopefully this is a sign that Shakehands is going to be doing more events.

Say You're From Amarillo Without Saying You're From Amarillo

Amarillo is a pretty quirky place. We've got the Big Texan, the weird signs, and (obviously) the famed Cadillac Ranch. But more than that, there's a distinct culture of close-knit community, eccentrics, a thriving arts scene, and much more.

The point is, living in Amarillo is a unique experience. Because of that, it's really pretty easy to tell who's a native or a long-time resident. And I can prove it.

Here's a couple of ways you can say you're from Amarillo.....without saying you're from Amarillo.

Amarillo Landmarks: Negative Yelp Reviews

Yelp can be a strange and angry place. That's what I found out recently when I decided to sort the reviews by "lowest rating" first.

I was okay with the people upset over bad service and what not. But I came across a few reviews that, for lack of a better word, left me speechless in their scathing negative reviews on some of Amarillo's most iconic places. Prepare your self for plenty of head shaking and "I dunno" shrugs.
