Someone told me earlier today about the Go Outside and Howl at 8pm Facebook group, and I thought there was no way it could be serious. I thought it would be like the Area 51 Raid all over again.

I was wrong.

There is a massive group on Facebook of people who are going out at night, every night, around 8 PM and howling. As of right now, the group has almost 500,000 members.

At 8 PM everyone, in their respective time-zones, steps outside and howls. It's like a long distance inside joke. At least, that's how I see it.

It may sound silly, but it's the silly stuff right now that's really helping a lot of us get through this awful time we're in. Social distancing isn't easy.

I sit in a room by myself all day to get my work done, and rarely see anyone else until I get home. Before all of this, there were people in the halls. I could go to someone's office for a second to bounce ideas around. Not anymore.

This would be a fun, silly way of connecting with people for a little bit. Plus, it would be nice to have something a little weird and funny to look forward to.

I'm honestly going to be giving the howling a try tonight. I bet the kids would get a kick out of it. The dogs will probably be confused.

If you're down to howl, here's a link to the Facebook group page. Any one can join, and they do recommend inviting all of your friends.
