‘Homeland’ Season 3: New Character Featurettes, Plus Leaked Premiere?
Fans of Showtime's prized Emmy-winner 'Homeland' have eagerly awaited the September 29 premiere up to now, waiting for news of Brody's fate or where another year might take Carrie and Saul, but it seems a snafu has struck early. The 'Homeland' season 3 premiere appears to have leaked to the web, far more revealing than a new round of character featurettes!
While the new Showtime featurettes raise some intriguing questions over the strained dynamic between Carrie (Claire Danes) and Saul (Mandy Patinkin), including a suggestion that Carrie might be the one to turn this year, we've learned from The Verge that a workprint of season 3 premiere "Tin Man is Down" appears to have made its way online.
The episode contains no credits and unfinished effects, though Torrentfreak reports that over 100,000 users have already downloaded the episode. It remains unclear where exactly the leak originated from, though it the footage would seem to be that of an early print screened for critics back in July.
Meanwhile, ‘Homeland’ season 3 picks up during the aftermath of the terror attack that decimated the US intelligence apparatus and prompted a global manhunt for the world’s most wanted terrorist, Nick Brody. As Carrie and Saul begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered professional and personal lives, they will be swept up in the political and media firestorm surrounding the terror attack and the subsequent search for Brody.
Along with the recent additions of ‘Iron Man‘ star Shaun Toub, Martin Donovan, Tracy Letts, Joanna Merlin, Nazanin Boniadi, Amy Morton, Lawrence Clayton, Sam Underwood, Gary Wilmes and ‘Game of Thrones‘ season 4 star Pedro Pascal, season 3 of ‘Homeland’ will see David Marciano (Virgil) and Diego Klattenhoff (Mike)stepping down as series regulars to take reduced roles, while Morena Baccarin will reprise her series regular role as Jessica Brody in spite of her husband’s absence.
You can check out the new season of 'Homeland' via the Carrie and Saul featurettes above and below, and give us your (legal) predictions on the September 29 season 3 premiere in the comments!
