With the new year upon us, it's time to start thinking about how we want to ring it in here in Amarillo. Some opt for the obligatory house party, and some just hang out on their couch and watch their favorite New Years Eve program on TV.

Then there are those who want to get out of the house and really live it up. Take out 2023 at the knees and hope for a better 2024 around a few people they know, and a lot of others they don't. Truly it's the best time and way to make new friends heading into the new year.

Apparently, Amarillo wants to live it up this year and forget about 2023, because the NYE parties are spread out over two days this year. In other words, if you're really looking to get after it and put yourself in a fog headed into the new year, you can do it.

Let's start with a couple of events happening on December 30th.

PONDASETA BREWING'S NEW YEARS EVE BASH

This one happens every year here in the 806, but this year they've decided to kick off the festivities a touch early. In other words, you get to pregame the evening before New Years Eve and maybe find a new favorite brew for the actual evening.

From 7p-Midnight, Pondaseta will hook it up with some snacks, drinks, and just good times in general. Not to mention they'll have live music from The Stray Sons with Jonathan Guidi from 9-11 pm.

For just $25, you'll get in the door, enjoy the music and hors d'oeuvres bar, along with one free draft brew of your choice. There's also a designated driver package for just $10, which if you ask me is pretty cool. You can get your tickets here.

NEW YEAR, NEW MUSIC

If you're a music junkie, this is the party for you. Also happening on December 30th, you'll get to hear some of the best local artists in the 806 throw down some old favorites and new tunes. Chances are, you'll come away with a new favorite artist or two here in Amarillo.

The event will be taking place at The Warehouse at 1107 N Grant St. The best part about this event? It's just $5 at the door to get in. Small price to pay for a long night of music.

DRUNKEN OYSTER CHEERS TO THE NEW YEAR

It's back! Every year, Drunken Oyster puts on one of the best, swankiest parties in Amarillo to ring in the new year, and this year is no different.

Get yourself dressed up and come hungry because for $150 per couple, you're getting a glass of champagne, and a Chef's 4-course dinner that is sure to leave you beyond satisfied. While you munch away, you'll enjoy some live music by The Tweeks.

You can reserve your spot at the party here.

NYE BASH AT METROPOLITAN

If it's a true party you're looking for, then look no further than this. The NYE Bash happening at the Metropolitan is going to be a night full of dancing, drinks, and a little food for when you get hungry.

The party kicks off at 7 pm featuring DJ Element on the ones and twos, giveaways all night long, and Michelin Star Chef Nori Karimi in the kitchen throwing it down with some incredible eats. Everyone in attendance receives a free glass of champagne.

Tickets for the event are just $19.99 with a limited amount of VIP tables available if that's your thing. You can snag tix here.

NEW YEARS EVE AT THE BARFIELD

If you're looking to do it up, then this is the party for you. The Barfield is known for how beautiful and classy it is, and the NYE event is no different.

Offering up Chef Table dinners for a cost of $99, you're going to get to indulge in some of the finest food you've ever slipped into your mouth. If you've never experienced a Chef's Table dinner, you're in for a treat. They prepare everything right there in front of you, and watching a chef work is something special.

The night doesn't end there though, as with your ticket, you'll receive complimentary admission to the after-party in the Paramount Recreation Club speakeasy. Tickets are available for purchase here.
