Who Did It? The Top Texas Cold Case Files
In the podcast world, true crime is a genre that has really taken off. True crime series that end with someone in jail and convicted is what you mainly hear about, but some cases go unresolved and become a mystery. Some cases become cold case files.
In Texas, law enforcement agencies have an impressive track record when it comes to solving crimes. 68% of homicide cases in Texas are resolved via arrest or other means. But that means some cases linger on and continued to be investigated.
In Texas, the Texas Rangers law enforcement organization can take over cold cases. The Rangers actually keep a list online of the top cold cases that are currently under investigation. 13 such cases are currently listed.

The cases listed below span from 1979 through 2007. The most recent case added to the site is that of Marianne Wilkins of Tarrant County. According to information listed on the website, Wilkins was murdered in 2007 when she answered her door and was shot multiple times.
Suspects? Not Always
One of the reasons why the cases are cold cases is because authorities don't have much to go on. While some cases may list a suspect by race and sex, other cases don't even have that. It is what makes these cases so hard to solve.
Below is a gallery of the top cold case investigations from the Texas Rangers. Look through them and if you know anything about any of the cases, Texas Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $3,000. All tips are anonymous.
