Part of the fabric of Amarillo is the food scene. We have so many different restaurants, but something that has been booming lately around town is food trucks. Some of the best meals I've had here have come from these trucks.

The hardest part about them is that they have a tendency to be scattered around town, so finding your favorite one to indulge in can be a little tricky.

War Of The Wagons Is Back

Well, at least for one day, you'll be able to find your current favorite, or even a new one. The War of the Wagons is back at the Texas Panhandle War Memorial, and it should be an incredible event filled with phenomenal food.

September 5, starting at 6 pm, you won't have to go hunting for a food truck to indulge in, as they'll all be together in one place. There will also be live music from the Texas Blues Rangers from 7 to 10 pm.

What Is The Amarillo Event For

The event is something that was started by the Texas Panhandle War Memorial and meant as a fundraiser for them. They don't receive any local or federal funds, so everything they do is driven by donations. Last year, the event drew roughly 1,000 people, and they're hoping for more this year.

The Texas Panhandle War Memorial has been around since 2002, and it's a chance for all of us to see and recognize just what our veterans go through in order to protect our freedoms and what they sacrifice in order to do that. If you haven't checked it out, this is a perfect time and way to do it.
