Final Block Party: Amarillo Restaurant’s 40-Year Tradition Comes to an End

Amarillo is home to some amazing local restaurants. Although we have seen several local restaurants close in the last few months, there is one restaurant that is going strong and getting ready to celebrate a milestone.

One of the great Mexican food restaurants in Amarillo is La Frontera

La Frontera serves up great authentic Mexican food and has been serving up delicious food for 40 years.

What are we celebrating?

La Frontera is gearing up to celebrate their 40th anniversary.

One of the dishes I look forward to enjoying when visiting is their Carne Guisada.  It reminds me of my childhood and the Carne Guisada I used to eat as a kid.

Not only has La Frontera been serving up delicious Mexican food they also are famous for their yearly block party.

Let's Party!!!

Once a year they close down the block and host a block party with food, fun, live music, and more.   However, the block party tradition will end this year.   This year's celebration will be the last.

According to a Facebook post on their restaurant page:

The event is taking place on Sunday, September 1st

Music performances include:

• Incepcion
• Los Arcos Hermanos PeÑa
• Special Guest Performance by Art Tigerina
• Drill Performance by The Lone Guard

Tickets for the event are $10 in advance or $15 at the gate, kids get in free.

VIP Tables are available for $300

• Table + 4 tickets
• Free food service 5-7 pm
• Private Bathroom
• Private Bartender
• 1- Drink ticket per VIP Guest

You can purchase tickets at La Frontera, 1401 S. Arthur, or Fillmore's Bar, 1005 N. Fillmore.

Don't miss your chance to make memories and celebrate at the La Frontera Block Party one last time.  Just because it is the last block party doesn't mean they are closing.  They will still be open serving up their delicious Mexican food for hopefully another 40 years in Amarillo.
