One Amarillo Restaurant Closes Quietly, While Another Brings Back Friday Lunches
I might need to categorize this as "Were you living in a bubble?" I suppose I was. Most of the time, I'm aware of what's happening with openings and closings, or at least the people around me are. But in these two cases, "I had no idea."
I was looking through real estate sites looking for something beautiful or interesting to look at when I came upon a retail location pop-up.
Wait a Minute, they closed. Oh my gosh, I need to write about this.
Then, I saw the date, it was a year ago.
Las Brisas
Las Brisas was a higher-end steakhouse in the Embassy Suites in downtown Amarillo. This was the second go-round for this steakhouse. It closed over a year ago, and I just noticed. I guess I haven't been paying attention to the Embassy Suites Restaurants. Or it may be because I could never afford to eat there so it wasn't at the top of my restaurant awareness.
Their Google listing still says they are open, but their website says otherwise.
Dear valued customers,
It has been our pleasure to serve you and the Amarillo community all these years. It is with a heavy heart we announce that Las Brisas Amarillo has permanently closed its doors.
We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated and hardworking staff. They have been instrumental in providing you with exceptional service and products, and we are grateful for their commitment.
We hope that if you find yourself in Lubbock, you will visit our Las Brisas Lubbock location and give us the opportunity to serve you there. - October 12, 2023
If you were unaware, Las Brisas is permanently closed. However, the space in the hotel once occupied by Las Brisas is available for a new restaurant.
Now on to the next living in a bubble moment.
Did you know Kabuki is serving lunch again?
This wonderful hibachi restaurant where you eat in a giant boat, that rains every few minutes, has brought back lunch on Fridays.
In August, they started serving lunch from 11 am - 2 pm. It's been a very long time since you could grab lunch at Kabuki Romanza. Now you have another Friday lunch spot!
