One of Amarillo's favorite restaurants is about to get a much-needed upgrade. There's nothing worse than being packed into a restaurant, almost touching strangers while you eat. When a restaurant isn't big enough and is super popular, the wait times are longer.

That's why this is great news for everyone in Amarillo who loves Texas Roadhouse. They are getting ready to expand the restaurant, bringing more room for those who love the steaks, hot rolls, and cinnamon butter.

What's Changing at Amarillo's Texas Roadhouse

According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Texas Roadhouse is planning an expansion for its location at 2805 West I-40, adding 848 square feet to the dining room. That doesn't seem like a lot, but it will give the restaurant more room.

Expansion Timeline and Details

The TDLR says renovations are expected to start in September and be done by December. The cost is expected to be $125,000.

After hearing about the expansion, we reached out to Texas Roadhouse, and they told us they don't have a firm timeline for this addition quite yet, despite what is listed in the TDLR filing.

What the Managing Partner Is Saying

According to the Managing Partner of this location, Rebecca Romero:

We are expecting to gain 8 tables from the expansion as well as relocate our to-go room to the west side, between us and Bubba's 33. So, the expansion will mean we are able to feed more guests and cut down wait times during peak hours. We hope to be able to provide more to-go parking spaces and, in turn, provide a better pick-up experience for guests.

More Tables, New To-Go Setup

Any extra room at Texas Roadhouse will be a plus. Hopefully, with this expansion, they will be able to accommodate bigger parties.
