Justin Timberlake and Lance Bass Call Out Google For Listing Shaq as an *NSYNC Member
It looks like Google got a little confused on Monday (May 21) about the members of *NSYNC. While listing Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, JC Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick correctly, instead of naming Joey Fatone as the boyband's fifth member, it had retired NBA player Shaquille O'Neal in his place.
Though the listing has since been corrected, Bass and Timberlake jumped on the opportunity to give the internet a chuckle by calling out the search engine on its error.
"Y’all who did this?!" Lance questioned his Twitter followers alongside a screenshot of the search result, while Timberlake took a more joking approach. "Google’s having a rough night," he wrote alongside a photo of the group's debut album with a photo of Shaq replacing Fatone and the album title changed to "*NSHAQ."
Though the error may seem random, the former NBA star actually had a large impact on *NSYNC's career.
“A lot of people don’t know, Shaquille had a big hand in starting our career,” Bass explained during an interview with TMZ Sports. “We live in Orlando, and our first place that we recorded at was his house. So all of our first demos, our first demos were all from Shaq’s house.”
