
John Stiff Park Will Be Closed For Fireworks Show
The City of Amarillo Parks and Recreation department will close the entry to John Stiff Park at McDonald Lake Sunday, July 3 through Tuesday, July 5 to get ready for the Amarillo Globe News Media Fireworks Festival. On Monday, July 4, the entire park will close for the show which includes the Southwest Pool and the Amarillo National Tennis Center.
When enjoying the fireworks display, please remember:
- Pets must be on a leash at all times (City ordinance)
- No glass containers are allowed in City parks
- Open fires are only permitted in grills with legs
- Dispose of any trash in the proper receptacles
It's a city law that the possession, manufacture, storage, sale, handling and use of any fireworks within the City limits is prohibited. The Amarillo Police Department and Fire Marshal’s Office will be strict in their enforcement on any violation found within the city limits.
