Meghan Markle Made a Surprise Visit to NYC For Her Baby Shower
Meghan Markle may be the Duchess of Sussex now, but she's still finding time to visit with her girlfriends.
As Harper's Bazaar reports, the mother-to-be made a surprise visit to NYC on Friday (February 15) to spend time with her close friends, who are throwing her a baby shower on Tuesday (February 19). The party will be set at a private location with 15 guests attending. This is Markle's first time visiting New York since getting married to Prince Harry last May.
But that's not all the former Suits star is doing while in the Big Apple. She and her BFF Jessica Mulaney visited Ladurée in New York’s SoHo district over the weekend to munch on macaroons and sip tea in one of the bakery's private spaces.
“The trip is a lovely chance to catch up with friends and spend time in a city she loves,” a source closed to the duchess told Harper's, noting the trip was planned months ago. "This will be the last time a lot of them will see Meg until after the baby is born so it’s nice to share precious moments."
"It’s been a relaxing visit. Nothing beats face time with your friends," another source added. "Meg will be flying home refreshed and relaxed—and with a lot of new baby clothes."
Markle is set to embark on one more trip before she gives birth this spring. She and her husband are scheduled to visit Morocco February 23-25.
