Michael Keaton is Interested in Doing A Bettlejuice Sequel
Back in September, I had posted that a Bettlejuice sequel could be in the works. I'll admit I was excited about that one because I love the movie. Notice I said sequel not remake. Remakes annoy me because can you really out do an original?
Well it seems that a sequel could be closer than originally expected. Seth Grahame-Smith, will be working on the screenplay, and is currently working on his movie adaptation of his book, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. After that he will be working on a adaptation of Unholy Night. Then, he will get a chance to sit down with Tim Burton and start working on Bettlejuice 2.
According to Shock Til You Drop Smith had a chance to talk with Michael Keaton:
And what was Keaton's excitement level like?
"Huge," the writer added, "he's been wanting to do it for 20 years and he'll talk to anybody about it who will listen. I really told him, I have a huge reverence for Tim and a huge reverence for that film in general. I don't think we should do it if we [deleted explicative] on the legacy. He agrees. So, right now, it remains to be seen, I have a couple of story ideas, but we're very early out."
So it is only a matter of time before we hear those beloved words Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.
Like I have asked before will we see Winona Rider, Geena Davis or Alec Baldwin? I wonder because ghosts don't grow old.
