I know I'm not the only person in the world who will be told what to get from the store and somehow come home with something that, at best, only slightly resembles the thing I was sent for.

Several months ago this happened regarding a piece of equipment we needed for the baby.

I've never breast fed a baby. I don't know the ins and outs of every piece of equipment required to properly accomplish that task. I know that my role is to be supportive at most.

So it was no surprise when I came home with the wrong thing.

On my second trip to the store that day, I had an epiphany. All of our phones have cameras on them. Most phones in these modern times give the option to...video call.

Standing in the aisle I video called my wife. She was able to tell me exactly what it was that we needed.

I've used this technique on every shopping trip since, and I have not once had to make a second trip to the store.

The next time your significant other sends you to the store with some vague instructions, or if they're picky about particular items, video call before you make your purchase.

It will save you a trip.

This can be especially helpful now that we are in the gift buying season. One person can go on the goose chase, and the other can provide support from afar.
