Next Week Kicks off an Annual Live Jazz Tradition in Amarillo
It's hard to believe the summer months are already here. It seems like yesterday we were celebrating the new year, and not it's almost half-way over.
Next week, a staple of summertime live music makes its in-person return to Amarillo. June Jazz is back for year number 25.
That's a lot of jazz.
June Jazz will be held live and in-person this year on the Amarillo College Washington Street campus. It will be south of the Experimental Theater.
Performances are every Tuesday night in June. They start at 7:30 PM and go until 9 PM.
This year's lineup includes:
- Austin Brazille - June 1
- The Martinis - June 8
- Esquire Jazz - June 15
- Polk Street Jazz - June 22
- June Jazz Big Band - June 29
The best part, is that it's free. When you add this to the already growing list of free events taking place this summer, it's looking like we're in for a busy few months.
We've got it all this summer. Along with June Jazz, there's all of the live music that will be happening all summer "in the park." There's also the nights where there will be movies "in the park." All of it free to attend.
The night that sticks out most to me is June 29. I personally enjoy big band music, and I have to imagine that there is something special lined up for that night. Consider it marked on my calendar.

At this point, there is absolutely no excuse for being bored in Amarillo this summer.
