What To Expect At The Randall County Jail Open House Event

Almost one year after breaking ground on what was to be an expansion, the Randall County Jail is finally ready to have an open house for its new addition. Everyone is invited to attend, and this is probably the best way to see the new expansion without catching a ride in the backseat, if you know what I mean.

Open House for New Addition to Randall County Jail, April 10, 2025

The open house for the expansion of Randall County Jail will be on April 10. It's open to the public, and it will be from 3 PM to 7 PM. It will be held at the Randall County Sheriff's Office at 9100 S. Georgia.

Parking will be available in the employee parking lot. Transportation will be provided from there to the jail entrance. The open house is come-and-go.

Randall County Jail Expansion Brings Benefits To Amarillo Area

The expansion of the Randall County Jail brings several benefits to the area. One of those benefits is the addition of 96 beds. This will help cut down on inmate overcrowding.

Another big benefit for the area is the addition of jobs. The addition is bringing with it job opportunities for correctional officers in the jail and the community. From the sound of it, this was an expansion that was sorely needed.

If you have time to spare on April 10, and are curious at all what the Randall County Jail expansion looks like, the open house is a great way to get to see it. It definitely beats the alternative.
