After Us Weekly reported that Rihanna had declined the opportunity to perform next year's Super Bowl halftime show in support of Colin Kaepernick, many celebrities have championed her decision on social media.

Amy Schumer was amongst the most vocal, issuing a lengthy statement on Instagram, revealing that she also told her reps she wouldn't do a Super Bowl commercial this year due to the NFL's stance against players kneeling in protest of the inequalities that African-Americans still face. "I know it must sound like a privilege ass sacrifice but it’s all I got," wrote the comedian. "Hitting the NFL with the advertisers is the only way to really hurt them. I know opposing the NFL is like opposing the NRA. Very tough, but don’t you want to be proud of how you’re living?"

Schumer also shared another post, urging Maroon 5 to also step down from performing at the halftime show in support of Kaepernick. "Wouldn't it be so cool if Adam Levine and Maroon 5 stepped down too?," wrote Schumer.

The Good Place's Jameela Jamil also took to Twitter to express her support, dubbing Rihanna a "powerhouse."  "Turning down a $2M dollar cheque and all that publicity and the records and clothes and make up she would have sold off the back of it...is God-Level Boss," wrote the actress.

TMZ also stopped Tinashe and asked her if she thought Rihanna's decision was a good move. "Yeah, for sure, you gotta stand for something," responded the singer. By turning down the Super Bowl halftime show, Rihanna's making quite a powerful statement, and people are taking notice.
