So I've learned some news that many are finding disturbing.  Have you ever heard of Westboro Baptist Church?  Well, according to their press release, they are about to make a stop in Amarillo.  Why?  To protest the funeral of Genaro Bedoy, a River Road High graduate that died in active duty while serving in Afghanistan.  Are you seeing red?  Just wait, it gets worse.

According to the website, which I will not be linking you to, Westboro's mission is to protest gays in the military.  Boasting the slogan: "We have turned America over to the fags; they're coming home in body bags."

You seeing red now?  Hold on, you're probably about to see nothing but the color red.

On their press release, they flat out say "Thank God for 16 more dead troops, we're praying for 16,000 more.  We will picket their funerals in their hometowns, in respectful and lawful proximity thereto."

What exactly is respectful about picketing a soldiers funeral?

Genaro was not gay, he has a wife and a 7 week old daughter, not that it would be okay to protest if he was gay.  Either way, this comes across as pretty disrespectful.

I've done a good amount of research, and what I gather is the following.  They picket close to the location of soldier's funerals, because they can't actually do it at the funeral homes or churches where funerals are being held.  So they set up pretty close, picketing with signs and shouting things that I can't even bring myself to type.

I'm pretty speechless at this moment and I wont be disclosing the location, day or time of Genaro's funeral out of respect for his family and friends.

Amarillo and the entire Texas Panhandle, I share this information with you, please, share your opinions.
