Why I Chose To Pre Plan My Funeral in Amarillo
I know this is not a fun topic to discuss. It does not kick off any party... but we are all going to die. I just have a plan! As I am getting older in life I know that I don't want to cause a lot of stress on my daughter. So this made sense for me.
No, I didn't plan how I will die. I am not that morbid.....but I wanted a plan for when it does happen. I don't want my only child to have to deal with that stress herself. So I did it myself. I made an appointment and did the hard work now. While I am still relatively young.
I have been pretty stubborn and independent in life...so why not in death too? So just a couple years ago I went to Boxwell Brothers and bought and paid for the end of my life.
I'm not going to have some huge funeral. I don't want all my friends to have to take the day off and come to some church to talk about my life. I don't want a service of any typed. Just cremate me and go on. Faith already knows that. She hates talking about it but I have it all in writing. That with my will for her as well. I want to make this easy on everyone.
I get it.....I'm not THAT old....but age doesn't matter. I have had a good amount of friends pass away over the years...they were not that old....so you never know when it is your time. Even when I went in for my appointment, Bart, kept telling me how young I was and though I appreciate that...I also know that my daughter will appreciate me going through this.
So when it does eventually happen....all Faith has to do is post a cool status on my Facebook page....just to mess with people. I mean assuming that Facebook is still a thing.
The best part is that paying for it when I did I was able to lock in the price. Costs of funerals and costs to bury or cremate will go up. I paid for it then and that is the cost that it will stay.
All I want then is for my friends to come to my house with their favorite bottle of wine...and maybe some food for Faith. Then everyone can eat and toast to my life.
