board games

Lately, I've been seeing a lot of "re-boots" or "re-makes" in El Paso, and the ones that really get me are the games. You know what I'm talking about... the old board games. Battleship, Sorry!, Mall Madness, Guess Who?, and the list goes on.

Just as long as it isn't Monopoly, you should be good.

In my experience that there are two types of people who play 'Monopoly.' The ones that just play because they enjoy getting together with friends and breaking out a board game for 'family fun night' and then those who are down-right ruthless.

As long we've had TV, game companies have been translating some of our favorites shows into board games. A couple of the big game companies while I was growing up were Parker Brothers and Milton Bradley. Both are now owned by Hasbro. Over the years game companies have  extended the reach of some of their long standing board games like; Monopoly and Clue.

One is a board game character. Another is a famous doll with her own Malibu Dream House. And let's not forget the Captain on a famous cereal box. You have seen many of these characters on T.V. and you may even know part of their name. But, believe or not, these 'people' actually have full names that, until now, you might not have ever known.
