Now I know we are just to the first day of July, but let's face it, the new school year will be here in the blink of an eye.  That's why the Salvation Army of Amarillo is being proactive and starting their school supply drive.

Summer is a fun time for everyone.  However, during the Summer temperatures rise and it gets hot.  If you are out in the elements you get dehydrated and excessive heat can be deadly.  That's why the Salvation Army is asking for your help.  They have currently kicked of a bottled water drive this Summer to help the homeless here in Amarillo.

The Salvation Army Texas Lone Star Band will have performances in Amarillo May 29th and 30th.

Now that the holiday season has past and the joyful bell ringers and red kettles are now a thing of the past until late November, the Salvation Army is still in need of help.  Help can come in many forms.   Here's how you can help the Salvation Army.

What is Christmas without something sweet.  You cannot have Christmas dinner with out some sweet desserts to end the meal.  Everyone should get to enjoy a delicious, pie, cake, candy at the end of their Christmas Meal.   That's why the Salvation Army is asking for you help.  The Salvation Army needs desserts to serve with their Christmas meal.

The Salvation Army has been collecting donations and gifts throughout this holiday season and now they are in need of volunteers to help distribute those Christmas gifts.

'Tis definitely the season for giving.

Every year the Salvation Army has their Angel Tree.  This year is no different, that is why they need your help.  They need you to go and pick and angel off the tree and make sure that angel is taken care of at Christmas.

Each year the Salvation Army offers assistance to families around the area for Christmas.  This year that is no different.  If you or someone you know needs assistance during the holidays, then please encourage them to sign up for the Salvation Army Christmas Assistance program.

Whether we like it or not, school starts in a month.  Can you believe that summer has flown by again.  Why does it seem that the school year takes forever and then summer rolls around an is over in the blink of an eye?  Well not that the start of the school year is literally around the corner, that means back to school shopping will start happening.  However, a lot of families cannot afford those

Can you help the Salvation Army?  They are in need of volunteers this Christmas season.  All the Angel Tree gifts have been returned and they need at least 50-75 volunteers each day to help with the distribution of these gifts.
