Sam Rockwell shows off that he's more than just a "Best Supporting Actor" in 'SNL' hosting debut.

This coming weekend will see Sam Rockwell taking the SNL stage for the first time, but January 2018 has yet more celebs in store. Season 43 will continue the year with fellow first-timer Jessica Chastain, along with SNL vet Will Ferrell.

The bizarre subculture of dime-store Christmas movies seems oddly pervasive this year, and has not gone unnoticed at SNL. The “Not Ready for Primetime Players” have at least one more gift in the form of a cut short, featuring host James Franco in an endless stream of indistinguishable Hallmark Channel classics.

SNL has plenty in its recent history it’d rather forget, but very rarely does the series scrub one of its own sketches from existence. Such is apparently the case with a recent Safelite commercial parody, as SNL has been quietly deleting all record from the internet.

SNL had already declared Saoirse Ronan as our first December host, and the time has come to round out 2017. James Franco will return to the sketch comedy series, as will comedian Kevin Hart and some fan-favorite musical guests to close out the year.

SNL may take time to carve the bird after host Chance the Rapper closes out November, but December has a Lady Bird all its own. Saoirse Ronan has been booked as our first Season 43 host of December, bringing a taste of Ireland with a veteran musical guest as well.

We knew Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot would bring the SNL house down; just not literally. The real-life Amazon princess makes an explosive entrance in her first official SNL promo for Season 43’s second outing.

We knew changes were coming to SNL Season 43 after the departures of Vanessa Bayer, Bobby Moynihan and Sasheer Zamata, but these additions are real buzzer-beaters. Ahead of Saturday’s premiere, SNL welcomes Heidi Gardner, Luke Null and Chris Redd to the series, with more than double as many writers.

In all the talk of SNL Season 42's breakout year and political impressions, poor David Pumpkins seems like a world gone-by. Tom Hanks briefly resurrected the character for the finale, but the actor might now be teasing a full return in Season 43. Any questions?

As SNL brings its summer Weekend Update to a close, we have our first official Season 43 host. Hide your replicants, as Blade Runner 2049 star and returning guest Ryan Gosling will host the late September premiere, joined by an iconic New York musical guest.

We thought it down to the wire when word broke before the SNL finale that Vanessa Bayer would join Bobby Moynihan in leaving after Season 42, but it seems another departure went entirely without notice. Reports confirm Sasheer Zamata also took her final bow with this past Saturday’s finale, joining at least two others.
