A Year Later, The Chilling Mystery of Texas Cow Mutilations Continues
Over a year ago in Texas, a story grabbed the nation's attention. In April of 2023, several cows were found mutilated in multiple counties. News outlets across Texas ran with the story, and it even made its way to CNN and other national news outlets. The strange manner in which the cows were mutilated led to a rash of rumors and theories, and it's still being talked about.
Strange Cow Mutilations In Texas In 2023
In April of 2023, a deceased longhorn was found lying on its side. The ground surrounding it was undisturbed. There were no tracks or tire marks. There was no sign of a struggle. Scavengers wouldn't go anywhere near it. The carcass was left to decay.
It's tongue had been cut out. The cuts appeared to be made with surgical precision. They were clean and straight, and the tongue had been removed from the body with no blood spillage. While this case was being investigated, more began to pop up. They occurred in different pastures and herds, and even other counties. In some of those instances, the genitalia had been removed with the same precision as the tongue.
To say people were worried would be an understatement. Theories began to fly. Everything from satanic cults to extraterrestrials was being blamed. Some people even mentioned that this was "classic Chupacabra".
People Still Have Questions In 2024
Recently, more posts began going up on social media of more instances of mutilations, and questions regarding last year's occurrences. Supposedly, the most recent occurrence of these mutilations happened in July of this year.
Last year, investigators were stumped by the odd nature of the mutilations. Digging through old news articles, I was unable to find a definitive cause. Who or what was mutilating cows last year in Texas, and is it the same cause of the supposed recent mutilations? It's creepy to think that there's something out there slicing up cows with no blood spillage and removing their genitals, and no evidence is left behind.
Hopefully we one day get some answers.
