According to reports, there is a chance of seeing what some to be a miracle taking place in New Mexico. A statue of the Virgin Mary at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hobbs, New Mexico is crying according to witnesses.

According to vice chancellor of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Las Cruces, Deacon Jim Winder, the statue of the Virgin Mary began shedding tears during a Mass on Sunday. According to reports, the statue has continued to weep ever since.

Doing a quick search on the internet for other instances of the phenomena, Wikipedia only lists just under 20 reports of weeping statues since the 1950s. Of that list, only two are listed as accepted.

This hasn’t stopped believers from making a trip to see the statue for themselves, and according to Deacon Winder, the Church will be conducting an investigation.

He has said that the investigation will be conducted with healthy skepticism and the Church will be taking a scientific approach to their work. He also stated that one can’t prove something is a miracle. You just eliminate all other explanations.
