Top 6 Things To Do In Amarillo When Facebook Goes Down
Today, tragedy struck for those among us who thrive on social media. Facebook went down.
What are you supposed to do when you can't binge neighborhood drama or tacky restaurant reviews? Here are our top 5 things to do when Facebook goes down.
Go Explore 6th Street
When I'm bored, and have nothing to do on the weekend, I enjoy going to 6th and checking out all of the antique stores. It never fails that you will find some oddity or trinket that will make you scratch your head.
Take In Some Art
Get some fresh air. Go take a walk downtown and see all of the artwork that has recently sprung up. You can see it for yourself instead of looking at photos someone else took. The Hoodoo Mural Festival just wrapped up, and there's some incredible artwork to take in.
Reconnect With Nature
We also have Wildcat Bluff and Palo Duro Canyon handy if you want to reconnect with the great outdoors for a little bit. You don't even have to be worried about getting a photo with Facebook and Instagram down. You won't have anywhere to share it and worry about "likes."
Reconnect With Your Loved Ones
Make a phone call. Send a text message. Say hello to whoever it is that is in your immediate area. Reconnect with all of the life that's happening around you for a few minutes. Even better, you could actually ask someone what they've been up to and not already know the answer thanks to your Facebook feed.
Suspenseful.
Go Have Lunch Somewhere New, or Scavenger Hunt for Food Trucks
We have a lot of restaurants in the area, and I seriously doubt that we've all tried every single one. If you need some pointers, I recommend checking out David's if you haven't yet. The fajitas are great. You could sit down for a cozy meal at Napoli's downtown. You can always cruise around and go hunting for food trucks. Without Facebook to tell you where they are, you can treat it like a scavenger hunt.
