Yes, Amarillo Has A Sister City In Ukraine. They Need Our Help.
Just in case you forgot, it was fairly recent that Amarillo decided to join up with a city in Ukraine and become sister cities. Our sister city is Dnipro. If that name looks familiar, it's because they made international headlines recently.
There's a way for us to help our sister city in Ukraine.
Dnipro, Our Sister City, Was Recently Victim To Missile Strike
According to news reports, an apartment building in Dnipro was hit by a missile strike. Reports have the toll at 40 dead, 75 wounded, and 34 missing.
It's a horrific tragedy, and an Amarillo non-profit is giving us all a chance to help.
Kind House Ukraine Bakery Accepting Donations
The City of Amarillo recently sent out a press release regarding the attack on Dnipro. It started off by stating that the City was sending heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the people in Dnipro.
It also stated that many of us have been contacting the City, asking how we could help. It's what we do in the Texas panhandle. We help out.
In the press release, the City states that Kind House Ukraine Bakery is accepting donations. They provided this link in the press release.
What Is Kind House Ukraine Bakery?
Well, it's in the name really. It's a bakery. It just doesn't operate the way a normal bakery would.
Kind House Ukraine Bakery doesn't list a price for their cakes, cookies, pies, bread, you name it. Instead, when you order from Kind House you're basically ordering a free baked good.
Instead of listing a price, they allow you to order and then make a donation. How big is up to you.
Check out their website to see how the money is used, and how it helps those in Ukraine.
